i recently purchased cookie password protection 2.7 and am having problems installing it that i think can be easily overcome with answers to the following inquiries:

First, I think it would help to know that I have an MS SQL Database at example.com, which is the website i will be password protecting. I have never worked with sql, but do use the database: I believe that the main database is a folder named "DB" in the main folder (which is empty). The main folder also contains the WWWROOT folder and a possible subfolder of DB: ".FormsDB" that holds actual databases of forms I currently use. I need to know if I need to set up another folder for the specific database i will use with cookie password protection 2.7 and how to go about setting it up. Also, i am confused on the following bits of coding in setup.php:

$mySQL_host = "localhost"; would this be "example.com"?

$mySQL_user = "loginname"; help . . . i'm lost here.

$DataBase = "database"; do i choose this name? how?

$UserTable = "pp27_users"; do i choose this one? is it just created automatically?

$CookiePath = "/"; i need the cookies on. am i supposed to do something with this line?

$ScriptURL = "http://www.example.com/"; is it wise to choose a different folder than the home folder for the password protected pages? will i have to update anything else in setup.php to reflect a change here?

$CookiePath = "/"; should i leave this as is? don't understand its function.

$ScriptURL = "http://www.example.com/"; should these be located in a folder separate from pages that may not be password protected?

$hiddendirectory = "/home/example.com/cookieprotection"; the literature said that 1.1 came with a trial version of file protection, and i assume that it is embedded directly into 2.7, right? is this where i put files that people with specific privileges can access? should i change the name of the file "cookieprotection?"

I apologize that the readme files were too vague for me to follow correctly. I have had the program for over a week now, and your quick help would ensure that i am able to use it as soon as possible.

Thank you very much.

Ask your web hosting company.

Use anything you like

/ will work on your site, but if you would like to restrict the cookie to a specific directory, then you should put the name of that directory here.

This is the URL to the directory where you have the most part of your protected files.

Exactly this is the directory where you will store the files you're going to protect with File Protection (not Cookie Password Protection files), for example PDF files or GIF/Jpeg pictures. You should change cookieprotection to something like 12jkdj74ne7s0d.
