To fight spammers we have decided to start removing new accounts with no posts made within the first 24 hours after creation. We've noticed that some spammers create accounts and they return a week or so to spam, so if you create a new account you need to make a post within the first 24 hours otherwise your account will be removed.

We will also start blocking services like amazonaws.com from accessing our server, since we've noticed that that type of services are used heavily by spammers. No real user is using Amazon for their surfing so we don't think any real users will get affected by this.
