Invalid License Message

Support (or anyone that can help),

Exactly one year after installation I'm getting the following error on pages using the password protection script. Do you need to purchase a new version every year?

Error Start ---------------------

This site do not have a valid license key for Cookie Password Protection because of:
*
Please contact the site owner for more information.

Error End---------------------

You don't have to get a new key every year.

Try running unlock.php once.

Not every year. It depends on if you server can connect to our server to verify the license key. Sometimes when the connection between your site and xaviermedia.com is lost for one or another reason you may get this problem. So far we've only seen this in a few cases since we started verifying keys in 2002.

Make sure your server can contact any subdomain at xaviermedia.com.

This is a shared hosting environment. We don't have the controls to manage that.

I updated to v2.9 and now can not log into my admin page. I get back the message that it cannot verify my license key. I am on a shared hosting environment and do not have access to the server controls, how do I go about getting my license key verified?
