Post subject: Cookie Password Protection 2.8
PostPosted: Wed Aug 23, 2006 10:38 pm

Points:
I just upgraded from Cookie Password Protection 1.1 (which I have used for a long time) to Cookie Password Protection 2.8.

I have it up and running and am able to add users, make custom login/logout pages, etc. and it is working correctly for much of my website.

However, on pages that are more than 2 folders deep I receive this error, "Can't find settings.php!"

For example, on pages where I include "../../protection.php" to go up two folders it works, but on pages were I include "../../../protection.php" to go up three folders I get the error.

All pages worked fine before I upgraded from 1.1 to 2.8 so hopefully this is just a simple fix.

Visit http://www.xaviermedia.com/download/ and download the new CPP 2.8 (the file have the same name as the version you downloaded). Then simply replace the old protection.php with the new found in the zip file you downloaded.

You only need to replace protection.php and you do not need to do any database changes.

Works great, thanks!

I use this on a site with thousands of similar pages so just going a couple directories deep was not feesible just for reasons of keeping my sanity.

You should be able to use the script on a few more directory levels than in the free version after the small "upgrade" I did :D

Enjoy the script.
