Post subject: Localhost Installation - no ".com"
PostPosted: Thu Sep 28, 2006 10:28 pm

Points:
From a previous post I wrote:

After the initial login, and clicking "Click here to visit protected page #2!," page2.php appears, but a new login is required.

During the successful setup, only one warning appeared:

"Cookies Warning
If your web browser is not accepting cookies you must turn cookies ON, otherwise you will not be able to login at your own protected pages."

The fix on that installation was to correctly address:

$CookieDomain = ".sampleaddress.com";

However, localhost doesn't have a ".com" ...

Is there a fix, or would I have to create a virtual server?

Try just putting localhost or the IP address. I don't know of any other solution.

I'll give it a try.

Here's an interesting note for you...

I initially installed cpp_28 on a website hosted by isphost.org called designer-q.com. Everything went well, but the software wouldn't email anything other than yahoo.com!

I had already installed phpbb, so I tested it, and I had the same results!

So I signed up with exavier.com with a website called designerq.info ...

Everything works fine.

Hmmm...

Thanks for the help.

Designer

Hmm, that's funny. You must have had something wrong with sendmail on your old server :?

Post subject: It's okay, the hosting is better at exavier.com, anyway.

The support at exavier.com is alot better, and just feels better here than over there. I never even addressed the issue to the hosting service.
